Seizing Opportunities: Connecting Businesses with Resources to be Successful
The City of Riverside was proud to be selected this year by the board of the California Association for Local Economic Development (CALED) as the host city for their 35th Annual Training Conference. Between April 20th and 22nd, economic development professionals from all across the state in both the public and private sectors came to learn, network and advance their professional development through the CALED program. The City’s Office of Economic Development was pleased to host the conference at the Riverside Convention Center and offer California professionals an excellent educational venue as well as a chance to experience the ambiance and charm of our City’s Downtown.
What is CALED? The California Association for Local Economic Development (CALED) is the premier statewide professional economic development organization dedicated to advancing its members’ ability to achieve excellence in delivering economic development services to their communities and business clients.
This year’s conference themed “Seizing Opportunities” offered attendees three educational tracks to enrich their knowledge and create a well-rounded learning experience. The first track, Tried & True, focused on Economic Development methods and best practices. The second track, Next Gen, informed about the innovative economic development activities that fuel the community. The third track, How To, offered in depth workshops and seminars to share the A-Z of particular tools, such as managing social media for businesses.
Collaboration and networking play vital roles in economic progression and growth. CALED’s training sessions essentially funnel wind in the sails of entrepreneurs and community leaders across the state, fueling innovation and prosperity.
